Is it true if you're anaemic you can't have a spinal for a c section?

Ive just been told I'm anaemic I'm 30 weeks pregnant and it's my third baby will be my third section. My first baby was born with me under a GA because I had psuedomonas sepsis on my back and they didn't want to bring it into my spine. Fine. It was excruciatingly painful though when I woke up and obviously my son and husband weren't with me.
Second section I had a spinal. Complete dream.
Have had fine levels of iron the whole pregnancy.
Was told this weekend when I was in hospital that I was anaemic. I'm really shocked because bloods the week before showed a good store. I can't work out

  1. Why I'm anaemic
  2. How it happened so quickly

There are a number of other things going on and the hospital basically has NOT addressed the anaemia.

I'm trying to tackle it at home myself and today my midwife is working so I'm going to call her to get the information. As far as I understand I was told my levels were 107, so borderline.
However I Want no excuses at all for why a spinal or epidural can't be performed

Am I right I'm thinking I've heard people have sections with a spinal / epidural turned down and told they need a GA because they were anaemic?

Thank you

You’re thinking of low platelets, not low iron.

Oh that's a relief

I agree with @Gardeningtipsneeded - it's low platelets that's the issue for spinals/epidurals
