To have no idea what this could be

5 year old DD was tossing and turning all night last nights with what seemed like a cold. Had calpol this morning and seemed much better, running round with sibling etc. didn't eat her breakfast as she said her tummy hurt but that was all that seemed to be wrong so we sent her in to school. She got sent home as she was apparently sick once at lunchtime, since being picked up she has eaten and has kept everything down but has a low grade fever. However she keeps saying that her stomach is really sore, every time she drops off to sleep she wakes up crying that the pain is really bad. Anyone have any idea what it could be? I'm thinking it's not a sickness bug as she's only been sick once but have no idea what would cause stomach pain and fever!

I’ve no idea what it is sorry. But both my dd and ds have been off school today with the same thing. Fever and stomach pain. Negative LFT’s but no sickness. Sorry, not much help!

Ps- ds was actually off yesterday too and is now back to normal today, so it passed quickly

Has she had a LFT to rule out covid?

As someone else said, has she been tested for covid? My DS was sick and had a low level fever, but only for a day.

My 11yr old had same symptoms and tested positive this morning even though he tested negative 12 hours previously.

Yes we've done a few LfTs and all negative

Check for appendicitis. My son was sick and had a fever (but a higher one) and said he felt constipated. Hope it's not!

I think you can have a stomach bug without being constantly sick - she has vomited and has a sore tummy so this sounds most likely to me.

My dc 9 was like this with covid. was getting neg lft's, then got positive PCR. LfT didn't show pos til 3 days on, so maybe take her for a test? Sending get well wished x

www.nhs.uk/conditions/appendicitis/ was my first guess. I'm not a doctor though. Needs checking out quickly if so
