Sorry, this is long!
I placed an online order in September including a couple of items on preorder for mid Nov delivery.
Mid Nov one of the preorder items arrives. The other doesn’t. I email to cancel the remaining item.
December 22nd the cancelled preorder item arrives on my doorstep. I try to return it Dec 24th but drop off point is closed. Covid and life happen so I don’t return until mid Jan (still well within the 30 day period).
End of Jan the item is returned to me!
Company says that it was delivered mid Nov so returned outside of the returns period.
Tracking details seem to support this (but equally could be for the one item that was delivered).
My best guess is maybe the parcel was delivered to a neighbour mid Nov who then forgot and dumped it on my doorstep just before Christmas.
So AIBU in thinking if the parcel wasn’t actually delivered to me, I shouldn’t be penalised?.
