Awful head cold, aching and eyes feel like piss holes in the snow.
I'm having a bottle of wine as if I'm drunk then surely I can't feel poorly too so it will take over and the poorlyness will be gone?..🤞🤞🤞😣

Sounds like the fuzzy logic I'd buy into.

Arghhconfused · 08/02/2022 19:05

That is utterly brilliant

MintyGreenDream · 08/02/2022 19:08

I'll report back

Love your thinking Grin

HangOnToYourself · 08/02/2022 19:09

I used this logic 2 weeks ago when I caught covid and self medicated with several large hot toddies (tho I didn't fuck about with lemon and honey or heat...so basically I had loads of whisky).
Sorry to say my logic was in face flawed and I have never felt so shit in my life but you can always have another bottle of wine tomorrow to perk you up Grin

WhyArePiratesCalledPirates · 08/02/2022 19:09

Yep.
Always my go to solution for all ills.
Even if it doesn't work, you care a bit less so that's a win anyway.

Brilliant thinking. Bonkers, but brilliant

Icantgetalifeifmyheartsnotinit · 08/02/2022 19:10

I've never felt hungover when I've got a cold. The cold is always horrendous but I never get the hangover bit!

TeeBee · 08/02/2022 19:10

Let's face it, you've got nothing to lose.

Wnkingawalrus · 08/02/2022 19:11

It’s a well known fact that booze temporarily reduces the effects of a cold. Medicinal, innit.

Moversnotshakers · 08/02/2022 19:12

Doing exactly rhe same here. The dehydration dries up the snot!! Gonna have a headache tomorrow anyway 🙃

Wingedharpy · 08/02/2022 19:12

Sadly OP, the physiology is against you but, your call.
Get well soon.Wink

IsItTooHotInHere · 08/02/2022 19:13

I think copious amounts of alcohol should be available on prescription

Proudplantowner · 08/02/2022 19:17

You've inspired me to open a bottle to get rid of this awful cold Wink

Aposterhasnoname · 08/02/2022 19:17

I can testify that this does in fact work, albeit temporarily.

RobotValkyrie · 08/02/2022 19:20

Sounds like a great plan if you want to feel twice as sick

Royalbloo · 08/02/2022 19:23

I've definitely puked, sneezed and had diarrhoea at the same time. And I may have blinked too. And breathed.

MintyGreenDream · 08/02/2022 19:23

2 glasses in and we have progress

Royalbloo · 08/02/2022 19:23

Haha - missed the point! Sorry!

Thatbliddywoman · 08/02/2022 19:24

Alcohol kills germs :)

ClariceQuiff · 08/02/2022 19:24

If it's red wine, that's supposed to have mild anti-viral properties!

MintyGreenDream · 08/02/2022 19:28

@ClariceQuiff it's Dry white 😊

Eeeh, well - you'll know to get red next time Wine Wink

InvincibleInvisibility · 08/02/2022 19:31

I get migraines from maltesers. I adore maltesers. When I got past 6 months pregnant I no longer had my weekly migraines so thought Id take advantage of that and have a packet of maltesers. Unfortunately you can be more than 6 months pregnant AND have a migraine Angry

So I think your logic may be flawed like mine.

Recycledblonde · 08/02/2022 19:32

When I had Covid I drank whisky every night, can't say it made me feel any worse but then I didn't really feel ill anyway, it did seem to get rid of the headache. DH had a lot of whisky and barely noticed the covid.
DH has a streamer of a cold at the moment and we're having a very hot chilli, garlic bread with extra extra garlic added and red wine. Hopefully it will cure him and prevent me getting it.
