Is it weird to be hand-expressing colostrum in same room as 4yr old DD?

So bit of context, I’m 36 weeks pregnant with various health complications including GDM insulin-controlled. On the guidance of docs and midwives I’m hand-expressing my colostrum into little 1ml syringes (I did this when pregnant with DD too) and have got quite the stash built up already (DD had low blood sugars at birth so the addition of colostrum on top of breastfeeding normally helped to raise her sugars)

I’m finding my boobs feel full in the afternoons so am expressing twice a day to relieve it (granted it comes out drop by drop so 4ml is quite the achievement each time !) with one lot of expressing happening when DD is around in the afternoon. I’ve explained to her that mummy’s breasts have milk in them and I’m just getting the milk out as that’ll be baby’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks etc and she seems to understand that. But is it weird that she’s seeing me doing it?? I’m guessing it’s no different to the fact she’ll see me breastfeed and likely express then too but didn’t know if the fact I’m hand-expressing and therefore “squeezing my boobies” (DD’s words not mine!) makes it weird??

YABU: that’s really weird, stop exposing your daughter to antenatal expressing
YANBU: totally normal, will make it easier for DD to understand breastfeeding when it happens

Not weird at all - as you say she’ll see you breastfeeding before long anyway.
