What shape will UK/ Europe/ US be in by the end of the year?

I am growing more and more concerned. Obviously, everything's been pointing to shtf on various levels for quite some time - but now, it looks like things are gathering speed.

I am getting really worried for my family and friends in the UK with the insane rise in energy bills. Honestly don't know how some are going to cope.

Russia and Ukraine and the ramifications all over Europe.

I myself now live in the US and there is a solid, realistic chance that Roe v Wade will be overturned by the summer, which is very frightening.

Everything seems surreal today. I feel like many of us in Europe and America lived in a very unusual and fortunate bubble in human history in the post WW2 period, until utter dysfunction was seeded in in the 80s with the deregulation of the markets (among other things, but just off the top of my head) and now things are really biting on a mass scale.

Of course, things have been utterly shit for a lot of people in poverty long before this. I'm not forgetting this as I'm certainly not rich and in the past have cried wondering how to stretch my money to pay rent and bills and food - but I've never gone hungry or homeless and I know how lucky that makes me. It feels like we are reaching some kind of significant tipping point now.

This post is a rambling vent, but does anyone feel something similar?

Just read through to the end of the thread about choosing between heating or eating, honestly can't believe the reality of how bad things are.

I'm struggling with fertility stuff and thinking of treatment but - what sort of fucking world is this to bring a child into?

I know children have thrived through every stage of history but is it the right thing to do?

Yep - the party is over.

I think the biggest thing on the horizon is climate change. I really worry about my children and what is in store for them.
I think we're living through a strange time, I think COVID will be a clear dividing line in history and we are in the weird in the middle bit before the post covid period. I don't think things will be the same again.
