Really dislike my nose

Trying to attach a photo of the side profile.
I have had filler before which improved it a lot but can't afford it at the moment.
I know it seems shallow and vain but it's getting me down, feel like it ruins my face a little, and see so many women around with lovely noses.

Should I save to get filler again? How do you learn to love something you hate?

Won't let me add a photo for some reason?

I'm sorry that you feeling unhappy about your nose, but fillers imo aren't the answer and imprefection real or perceived is what make us beautiful.
Look at some of the celebs that have had surgery befores and after. It's not always a positive outcome and they could have problems as they grow older.

Everyone has something they wish was bigger/smaller/firmer etc. There's nothing wrong with it as such but you don't need the validation of strangers here or anywhere.

My opinion is - does it work ? Is it healthy ? Does it cause pain ?

If those things are all true, whatever body part in question is performing its function perfectly.

Filler is a medical intervention not without risks - so deffo think carefully is its 100% needed.

Thank you for the replies. Does anybody know if Mumsnet has changed the site so that we can't upload photos any more?

I keep finding myself looking at other women and thinking how much better looking they are than me, it's not healthy I know.
I just don't know how to start liking my nose and i think life is too short.

I think maybe you notice your own nose an awful lot more than anyone else does, if you see what I mean. It's like those times in adolescence when you get a spot and think that it is all anyone will see if they look at you, but in general most people don't look at other people's spots any more than they look for dust-mice under their beds.

The thing that gets noticed is your smile, or the way you look interested in things. Concentrate on those, and let your nose look after itself!

FlasherMcGruff · 06/02/2022 18:08

You should be able to add a photo as I just did. Life is too short to feel this glum about something that you can alter in a fairly straight forward way with rhinoplasty. I’d certainly do it, if it were me.

FlasherMcGruff · 06/02/2022 18:11

^ By that, I mean I’d save for it simply because it would be a permanent fix or, if totally out of the question because of costs, I’d save for filler. But only because I think that if you are really struggling to like your nose then no strangers reassuring you that it’s fine will change that.

Tinyhorseshoes · 06/02/2022 18:14

My idea is that your nose fits your face. Some women have long noses and some have short. A friend of mine has a long Roman nose but she looks great with it. Mine is broad, but I have a broad face and large features. I would look silly with hers and visa versa. You could try photoshopping a few to try.

Pythia333 · 06/02/2022 18:34

Still can't add a photo which is odd.

I'll try the Photoshopping, that's a good idea
I've already started telling myself that I'd like to have larger lips too, I don't want to develop an addiction and keep finding new issues to fix

I actually think noses are very beautiful.....apart from ones with lots of hair. I'm sorry you don't feel very fond of yours OP. Although mine is small it is quite lumpy buy oddly I quite like it. It is a distinguishing feature on an otherwise uneventful face!

dopenguinsdance · 06/02/2022 18:57

Also endowed with a bumpy nose, can't afford the fillers or rhinoplasty. But, when my lovely aunt told me I had my Gran's nose and that was why I was her favourite niece, that totally changed how I felt. I truly loved my Granny, so ever since I've carried 'our' nose with pride.

WhatTheFlap · 06/02/2022 19:02

I feel the same as you. I only realised how big my nose was about 10 years ago, it doesn’t fit my face at all. From the front its not too bad, but if anyone takes my photo from the side I can’t stand how it looks. If I had the money I’d have a rhinoplasty without a doubt. It doesn’t negatively impact my life to any particular degree but is something I focus on quite regularly Sad

I had mines done in Europe Surgery in Poland in 2016, never regretted it.
