Asking for a friend...no really i am😂

How would you take it if your DP of 30 years told you that you're a comfy slipper?

NBU- Sad that they are calling you boring or ..
BU - happy that they are saying you feel like home?

I like it. The feeling of familiarity, warmness, security.

Gowithme · 05/02/2022 20:52

I am a huge fan of slippers, although as comfy as a dressing gown would be even better.

StartingGrid · 05/02/2022 20:54

A client called me that a couple of days ago, I'm taking it as a compliment Grin

I suppose it depends on how the rest of the relationship.

I say do feels like my favourite hoodie. Nothing like getting home changed into my favourite comfy clothes. My hoodie always makes me feel comfy, happy and relaxed. As does dp. Both feel like home.

But if the relationship has lost its spark and there's issues, then maybe its not a good thing.

I love my slippers 🤷‍♀️ They’re not too comfy though 😂

I wouldn't like it. It's a bit boring isn't it. A comfy slipper is hardly exciting.

maras2 · 05/02/2022 21:03

I'd give him the death stare.
Slip on a gimp mask et al.
Pick up a flip flop, and say.
Who's a comfy slipper now. Grin

I have been known to describe my relationship with my lovely DH (of over 30 years, incidentally) as like a comfy pair of slippers because he makes me feel happy, secure, loved and I'm totally relaxed and comfortable with him. So I see it as a really good thing.

Mossstitch · 05/02/2022 21:17

Well I'd rather be in comfy slippers than high heels🤷

If 'your friend' brings as much joy, warmth and comfort into their partner's life as my Ugg slippers bring to mine, then I would say they are on to a winner!

Cigfree · 05/02/2022 21:26

I’ve heard of ‘comfy slippers’ in terms of a job (meaning it’s the easy option and you don’t want to do anything outside your comfort zone) but I’ve not heard it used in terms of a relationship. I suppose after 30 years it is like comfy slippers though - easy and familiar. Probably means someone is happy with their lot!

ButtockUp · 05/02/2022 22:49

I love my comfy slippers of over thirty years.
Some stitching has unravelled and the soles are a bit lumpy but I wouldn't change them for anything.
