Are people more disconnected than they used to be?

I can’t figure out if it’s me who’s become isolated, or whether the social world has changed a bit.

Maybe it’s a post covid thing. But I think I felt a bit like this before Covid too. People just don’t seem as invested in each other any more. Friends, acquaintances, colleagues… the sense of community has gone? A sense of ‘out of sight, out of mind’.
Maybe it’s the digital age.
Or maybe it’s just me?
What do you think?

you could live in a small town where everyone knows everyone else's story. Nobody ever forgets and some never forgive

Op, I agree and I hate it. I've noticed a tiny shift back this week though as restrictions lift.

People were even in the office today and it was such a lovely atmosphere. Lots of laughter. We generally get on very well as a company and everybody has missed each other.
