Should I fix my energy rates in April or wait and hope they come down over the next 12 months?

I have the option to lock prices in for 24 months which I’m tempted to do in case of further rises but not sure if it’s wise and the prices will drop?

What is everyone else doing?

If the fixed price isn't more than 50% rise then it's probably worth fixing

I'm keeping a close eye on whatever Martin Lewis says tbh.

The fixed price is slightly more than 50% rise. My direct debit would be £350 a month on the new tariff. I’m so worried

The price cap was announced today so it depends on the price per kWh that your fixed rate was offering

Martin Lewis has posted an article today (it's on the homepage of the moneysavingexpert site) and his conclusion is that most people should do nothing - stick on the price cap and do not fix.

I'm staying on the price cap as the fixed rates offered were crazy prices

Hello. Popping in to let you know that we're doing a Q&A with fuel poverty charity National Energy Action about these energy price hikes on Wednesday 23rd Feb at 12 noon. The thread is now open for questions here.
