To ask about sedation side effects?

My partner has had a procedure in hospital this afternoon under conscious sedation (midazolam). I picked him up from hospital and he was slurring and a little unsteady on his feet. He wasn't making much sense on the drive home, just mumbling about random things. Got home and he's now crashed out asleep on the sofa. Anyone know how long he is likely to be out of it? I have anxiety around this sort of thing so just want to know when it's time to worry and what's normal. Sad

Yes, whenever I’ve had a procedure under sedation, all I want to do is sleep when I got home and felt drowsy for a few days. He should have been given a leaflet to take home with possible side effects and things to look out for.

I certainly talked absolute nonsense after I had sedation. I think I had to sign something saying I wouldn't do anything remotely dangerous (like use an oven even!) for 24 hours afterwards.

Allow 24 hours. It does have quite an effect.

My teen was told no social media for 24 hours because she would most likely post a load of nonsense.

Honestly OP this sounds really normal. After a good sleep he will likely seem pretty much back to himself, just tired.
I’ve had consious sedation twice recently and My partner said I was a bit ‘drunk’ for a few hours after, apart from that I had no adverse effects whatsoever x

I've been a bit drowsy but otherwise totally fine, I'm sure we all react differently but I'd gently rouse him every now and again and check he's ok and coherent.
