Pedestrian new rules - do not mean on a busy roundabout with no central island you walk straight out and expect the traffic to stop. I was going straight on so technically not joining a new road - managed to stop as a young lady stepped out blithely. Unfortunately for her the cyclist who decided to overtake my stopped car did not see her. The ensuing argument as to who had right of way was amusing.
Am sure the new rules did not mean that pedestrians can just walk straight out anyway they feel like!
Second example - driving through home town stopped at traffic lights indicating right and the late night mamil cycling group started filtering up both sides of my stationary car to the front. No issue with them being infront of me. I do tke bloody issue when the light turns green and 4 of them block the road staying stationary until the sedentary mamils catch up - they waited so long only my car got through. 200m down the road more traffic lights and the same behaviour - some kept to the left to allow passing others weaved across the road making passing impossible for the 2 miles.
The front box for cyclists at the traffic lights is not a rest stop for your slower mamilian friends to catch the group up!
There was me thinking this morning that everyone was behaving well but it only takes a few to screw it up.
