Went out with some people and they ordered couple of meals then proceeded to put half their meal in other persons plate , then took a doggy bag home . Aibu thinking that’s unusual, never seen that before ?

DH and I regularly split meals.

Notimeforaname · 02/02/2022 20:16

You'll have to explain it again...

sadpapercourtesan · 02/02/2022 20:17

Eh? Can you explain a bit more clearly?

Notimeforaname · 02/02/2022 20:17

They swapped half their meals with eachother? And took the leftovers home ? Is that it ?

Xmassprout · 02/02/2022 20:18

So they each had half of each others meals and then took their leftovers home? I dont think that's particularly unusual.

LawnFever · 02/02/2022 20:19

Not massively unusual on any front, and I often take leftovers home.

Forestdweller11 · 02/02/2022 20:21

Rarely split meals - occasionally might, but we have different tastes. It wouldn't be a 50:50 split in any case, it might be a spoonful or something.

Doggy bags - yes, always. And in this case we do share with the dog.

Chely · 02/02/2022 20:23

Dh might put his onion rings on my plate but if he tries to share my food he will feel my fork.

Goodnessmerrallt · 02/02/2022 20:44

One had pasta the steak and chips , they cut it in half then put other half on each other plate then doggy bagged the chips.

Notimeforaname · 02/02/2022 20:45

And this bothers you a lot ?

Notimeforaname · 02/02/2022 20:46

Sharing isn't unusual. Neither is taking home leftovers.

Goodnessmerrallt · 02/02/2022 20:46

@Notimeforaname

And this bothers you a lot ?
No just never seen it .

Normal. Only thing that’s weird is doing doggy bag with chips. I just can’t imagine you could go home and reheat chips the next day Confused. If doggy bag with the pasta for example I wouldn’t bat an eyelid.

kitkatsky · 02/02/2022 20:50

Doggy bagging chips is weird... steak or pasta would be better reheated then next day. Chips would surely just get soggy?

notanothertakeaway · 02/02/2022 22:08

You can reheat chips or pizza in a frying pan

But I wouldn't normally take food home from a restaurant. It seems sensible, but tight fisted

CourtRand · 03/02/2022 16:49

We half and half about 70% of the time. We like variety.

Kopenbergglass · 03/02/2022 16:51

I do not understand this concept of sharing food. I do not share my food. Ever.

Concestor · 03/02/2022 17:33

It sounds weird to me. Pasta doesn't even go with steak and chips. If I order a meal I want to eat all of it, and I wouldn't bother taking any of that home as leftovers, it wouldn't be nice reheated.
