Holiday recommendations?

Posting here for traffic! Like most haven’t had a holiday abroad recently. Looking for a break in September for DH and I. A week or 2 somewhere hot, don’t really want to go long haul. Thinking perhaps Greece or canaries? Any recommendations of really nice hotels/resorts? Thanks

Our favourite place is Nerja in Spain. There are a couple of hotels in the town, but we prefer to book an apartment and eat out in the loads restaurants.

Thank you, just looked that up. Do you think would be hot enough in September? Really want to go in term time and avoid children!

Eden Roc in Rhodes. Was there until 31 October when they shut this year and was still 27 in the day time so September will be warmer.

Steigenberger Al Dau/Pure Lifestyle in Hurghada Egypt.

Corfu. Loads of gorgeous places for all budgets. Hot in September.
Paleokastritsa is a stunning place on the west of the island. Bit more calm and laid back there. Kassiopi is another nice place uo north though I haven't stayed there.

Sidari is also up north and a bit more of a purpose built tourist town with lost of bars if that's more your thing

And Corfu town itself is beautiful, small island quick to get around by car.

Lots of great boat trips to neighbouring islands and the Albanian Riviera Grin

If you want to do literally nothing and be waited on hand and foot The Regnum Carya in Antalya, Turkey. Super All inclusive, adult only pool, stunning grounds amazing restaurants (some you pay a few euro extra for) absolutely mega luxury and we didn’t want to come home.

I only go away in September for the same reasons. I was near Estepona in September a few years ago and place was full of kids 🤣

I find mainland spain has lots more kids in September, than the Greek islands or canaries.

Wnkingawalrus · 02/02/2022 20:18

September might well be better but I found June in Greece was absolutely full of toddlers!

ArtfulScreamer · 02/02/2022 20:36

We quite often do Cyprus in October as it's still lovely and hot but hate to break it to you we have a toddler and baby and aren't yet tied to terms so maybe look for an adults only hotel, The King Jason in Cyprus gets excellent reviews.

Thanks all will look at all suggestions!!

I just came along to say Nerja. We love it there.

My favourite place I’ve been is Stella Palace, in Crete. Went for my cousins wedding a few years ago, and booked a room with a private pool. We were all-inclusive, but still went into the town and to the beach on occasion for dinner. I dream of going back

Kalkan in Turkey - lovely village around a small harbour - superb restaurants, lots to see and do nearby...
