I sold an old adults' bike on Gumtree. Not a fancy bike at all but in perfect working order.
Sold the bike, a lock (not a D or U lock but one that can still be used alongside one of those) and a brand new pack of bike oil all for £30, which I think was a good deal. Just wanted rid of it quickly and a bit of extra cash.
The woman turned up and tested the bike, saw it was all in working order. She asked if I could knock some money off the price. I just wanted it gone quickly so I said I'd accept £25, even though I thought she was pushing her luck.
She thought for a minute and then sighed and reluctantly said ok. I think she was expecting me to offer it all for £10 or to give it her for free?
She hadn't come with a bag of any sort even though she knew there would be a lock and the oil to carry, i had also explained prior that it was a chain lock.
I went and fetched her a plastic bag as that was all I had. Gave it her and she said 'how am I supposed to carry that back?' well surely she should have thought of that before she turned up without a bag.
Then she said, 'can i sit on your doorstep for 5-10 minutes, I'm a bit tired as I've just walked like one mile'.
I said well you can if you want but i have to leave in a moment. Maybe she had a condition which caused fatigue and i should have been more understanding but i thought it was odd to want to sit at a stranger's front door.
Wibu? Has anyone else had these sorts of experiences selling online?
