For weight loss and self esteem issues and did it work?

Would it also be suitable for children?

Watching with interest as I'm starting it for different reasons and I don't know anyone who has done it

My reflexologist trained in it and asked if she could practice on me. I didn’t fall asleep, but I was very relaxed and we covered things from my late childhood that I hadn’t really thought about in years. Nothing traumatic and no great aim for the end of it. It was interesting but not sure I would do it again.

I had hypnotherapy for a different reason than the ones stated but found it incredibly helpful.

Oh in terms of children, depends what age. I’m not sure I’d like my children to be in what is a relatively vulnerable state with someone else, you don’t know what will come out and it could be quite traumatic. There used to be some research on case memory syndrome associated with hypnotherapy too , not sure if this has since been disproved as a long time since my degree days when we looked at it.

Not for the same reasons as you but incredible in the short term for fear of flying. I felt like I was someone else, making really great decisions about the flight (buying sweets to take with me, a magazine) when I would NEVER have planned to. I surprised myself.

The added bonus was, as a very stressed out professional, I slept for 12 hours after each session. Unheard of! In fact I would return and pay just for that.

I also had it for different reasons and found it very helpful. Will they do it on children though?

I had it for IBS. Had about 12 sessions, once a week. It was very effective for IBS and I found it relaxing. Although it was hard to come back to the real world and head to the office after a session!
I had a very experienced & qualified professional hypnotherapist at an NHS hospital. I’d recommend using someone with similar expertise, I’d say it’s worth a try if they person is fully qualified and experienced in the area of weight loss.

I had it for exactly that - sell esteem issues. I was an adult though so not sure if it would be a different outcome if I was a child.

It did nothing for me apart from relax me. You feel really calm and lovely after a session.

I think it's useful for very specific things like fear of something, when you have a trigger. I think self esteem issues are quite complex to treat with hypnotherapy. My therapist was very reputable (and bloody expensive!).

I had it for weight loss. I only did 3 sessions and I was sent an audio file to listen to very evening. Unfortunately I haven't lost any weight, but I do eat a looot less than I used to and my husband even noticed I refused food he offered me when before I wouldn't have.
However I did the hypnotherapy last month so with it being December and Christmas, it's not a surprise I haven't lost much weight.
