Have you ever tried to make a partner jealous?

Have you ever tried to purposely make a partner (or potential partner) jealous?

Years ago I can recall two incidents when friends tried to do this.

However, firstly I want to clarify that there definitely weren't me We were in our mid 20's and, thinking back now, the girls sound like bunny boilers!

1. The first friend had been having a relationship with a guy from work who wouldn't commit. She sent herself some red roses to work on valentines Day, delivered by Interflora.

2. Another friend had been sleeping with a married man. He phoned one afternoon to say he would come round to her apartment that night. She put empty wine glasses on the cabinets each side of the bed, and pulled the bedding back a little, to make it look like she'd had another guy round. Her married man didn't really care. He was only interested in one thing.

Yes I have when I was majorly insecure in a relationship due to the guy having commitment and intimacy issues, ogling other women, never making me feel good about myself - you get the picture!!
I remember we broke up for a while and I dated someone else and when we were back together I said id still be seeing the other guy as a friend purely to make him jealous. I also used to tell him when guys in my work had been flirty etc and I'd tell him in passing.

If he had ever been jealous he never actually showed it and one day I thought to myself 'this isn't healthy this is toxic' and I ended the relationship

Yes but I was very young, and while he was a bit curious, he wasn't jealous. He was frankly just too self assured for that.

Luckily I had plausible deniability and I may even have got away with it, although it hardly matters now.
