When did your child start to have symptoms after their MMR jabs?

Hi guys my son is 1yr old and had his jabs 7days ago I've noticed that he's not really eating his food much but he is drinking his bottles fine and he is eating fruits he's also been a bit fussy than normal but when he's playing he seems fine and happy

I've also notice his poops are more runny since yesterday not sure if it's because he's not eating much solids or because of the side effects of the jabs

He doesn't have a fever but his temp does seem a bit raised not nothing worrying his temps are in the 37's

As a first time mum I'm a bit worried... what was your children's symptoms after did they react to the MMR

I've been hearing a lot of mixed things that some children reacted 7-10 and then 3 weeks later etc

My DD had a bit of a temperature after her MMR, but only that evening IIRC. You say he seems happy in himself, which is the main thing. Hes just at the point at which some babies do start to become a bit fussy about food, but again if he is eating fruit and drinking water and milk, he wont be suffering.

How was he after he had his other baby jabs?

Measles vaccine side effects

Around 7 to 11 days after the injection, some children get a very mild form of measles. This includes:

a rash
ahigh temperature
loss of appetite
a general feeling of being unwell for about 2 or 3 days

These symptoms are not infectious, so your child will not pass anything on to non-vaccinated children.

Mumps vaccine side effects

Around 3 to 4 weeks after the injection, 1 in 50 children develop a mild form of mumps. This includes swollen glands in the cheeks, neck or under the jaw which can last for up to 2 days.

These symptoms are not infectious for other people.

Rubella vaccine side effects

Around 1 to 3 weeks after the injection, some adult women experience painful, stiff or swollen joints for up to 3 days.

About a week later, it can take up to 4 weeks for side effects to occur. Totally normal.

Yes it's pretty typical. My DD1 got a very high temp a week or so later (can't remember exactly). She was absolutely fine after her booster at 3.5.

About day 7, covered in spots and temperature

I hadn't realised about the delayed reaction until I read the leaflet after the jabs. The earlier baby jabs all had a reaction straight away or no reaction at all.

We had a trip to see rellies in France booked slap bang in the middle of the side effects. Our baby was Not Happy. The journey was hellish and the baby covered me in vomit just as we arrived. I wouldn't have timed it that way if I had realised.

Bang on 2 weeks later. He was fine in the morning then went very tearful and unsettled in the afternoon. Slept from about 3pm till 7 am the following morning when he woke up absolutely fine as if nothing had happened.

My DS had a high temperature about a week later. He was back to normal the next day.

Annoyingly, that resulted in nursery sending him back home for a covid test, despite being advised my the nurse that it was a normal reaction to the jab.

Thank you all for your responses I appreciate it

Hopefully DS is back to his old self in a day 🙏❤️
