To ask if anyone has a ginger allergy?

Just that really. Does anyone have a ginger allergy? I have loads of food sensitivities and allergies. I'm trying to work out what's causing my latest reaction of really uncomfortable abdominal pain. I've been through everything I'm eating and drinking and all I can think of is Sainsburys frozen chopped ginger or a type of herbal tea with cardamom in it.
It could be the ginger has been contaminated during the production process or I have something else wrong with me🤷‍♀️

I have got ginger hair (and clicked on this thinking it was gonna be about that, then made a little joke, relax.

Anyway @JesusSufferingFuck22 sorry to derail your post, i should have read it properly before replying, apologies! I don't have a ginger allergy, I would go and speak to your doctor if you are in pain though, and call 999 if you are struggling to breathe etc. It's possible to have a ginger allergy but if you're in severe pain I would go and get help ..

It might not be an allergy. I’m part Indian and we use cardomon (both green and brown) in our masalas because it helps gets things moving. If you’re drinking a lot of that tea it could explain the dodgy tummy. It’s also a diuretic so if you drink loads especially if you brew the tea quite strongly you could get dehydrated and that might cause ibs symptoms too. Stop the tea and see what happens.

Had a reaction to that dried ginger that I think has sugar on it ( can’t remember what it’s called) Blinding headache, tingling lips and tongue.

Suzanne999 · 01/02/2022 17:34

Check if you have a rash anywhere
If you have a blood pressure monitor take your BP to see if it’s dropped.
Both indicate an allergic reaction.

Any swelling of your tongue, lips, inside your mouth
Any breathing problems.
Go to A&E or call 999 immediately.

I’ve never had abdominal pain from an allergic reaction, I get the rash, tingling lips and tongue, only once had swelling warranting hospital, BP drops and I feel sick. Usually end up with a headache.

I worded it wrong. I think I have a sensitivity more than an allergy as it's a similar reaction when I accidentally eat gluten, which is mostly gut related. Just considering it may be a cross contamination issue.

Oh that might explain it. Just checked ingredients of a newish herbal tea and it has cardamom in it. I had two cups today and yesterday.....and been peeing a ridiculous amount! I'll skip tomorrow and see it that helps.
