Aibu

I’m early 40’s had a string of not very happy relationships, i ended my marriage and then have brought my kids up. I have just ended my relationship but this is feeling very raw and I have once again invested time into someone who didn’t show me respect or commitment.

I just wonder if I am not meant to ever be with someone as it always goes wrong.Aibu here my way of thinking is now skewed.

I am thinking of practical ways to move forward now. I’ve thought of joining some walks with meet up app and am starting swimming shortly.

Any other advice to help ease the heartache

Didn't want to read and run without offering a handhold Flowers, not sure how to ease heartache but can share my experiences. Failed long marriage of 20 odd years however it was really over many years before we finally divorced, however in that time I learnt to love myself, love being by myself etc. Kids are now late teens early twenties, i can do what I please without asking anyone. Watch what TV i want, see what friends i want, eat what I want when I want, sleep soundly on any and every side of the bed etc. Many advantages.

I'm lucky in that i've always been happy in my own company, but I did join Rock choir as soon as i was able, and have met plenty of people with like minds, great fun each week and get to perform in public every so often (not much singing talent required either Smile.)
keep busy, take up that hobby you have always wanted to do, love yourself and be happy with yourself. If a relationship follows then its good to know its not something you need, or rely on, but something that you truely want.
