Unsightly sign

Our neighbours across the road from us are getting their garden done. The company doing it started work on it over the weekend.
I've come home from work today to find that the landscaper doing the work has attached a sign advertising his business to the lamp post in front of our house instead of putting it at the front of the house across the road that they are actually working on.
AIBU to not want this sign there?
They've attached it with a piece of wood and cable ties and it's right in our line of sight out of the living room window.

Am I just being petty?

Just take it down,

@Whammyyammy

Get some pliers/snips, cut tie wraps, plonk sign on garden where work is being done. Or ignore it.
This is what I would do

It’s prob a small company, trying to drum up business, puts a sign up.

Let it go. It won’t be there forever. Give them some slack!

Darbs76 · 31/01/2022 20:54

You don’t own the lamp post and perhaps that people can see the sign better from there than their drive. Yes it would be petty to ask for it to be removed

Lineofconcepcion · 31/01/2022 20:57

Just take it off and return it to them at some point. We sleep with our windows wide open and it would annoy me too.

Is it honestly affecting your life that much? It’s a temporary sign, I’m sure you can cope for a couple of days Grin

Sugarplumfairy65 · 31/01/2022 21:16

@nokidshere

It's not on your property though.

Seriously get a grip. It's a temporary sign on a public space.

And illegal without council permission

You are being a bit petty, but as you have a light sleeping 7 month old I'd say that's fair enough! I bet they normally leave a sign in the garden they're working at, but with the high winds wanted to fix it to something.
