Because goodness knows we need someone with an ounce of sense when it comes to the gender self identification stuff

YANBU. I wouldn't blame her though. I left and I had none of the pressures of being an MP.

According to another thread, it’s a perfect storm of misogyny, Corbynites, and Brexit/Lexit.
What a simply splendid time for the headbangers of the Labour Party to be trying to ensure that the party are seen as unelectable, leaving us to be governed by Johnson et al.
What the hell are you thinking, #KeirStarmer ??

lifeturnsonadime · 31/01/2022 09:32

In the same week that the EHRC wrote a letter to Scot Gov highlighting the conflict between Self ID and women's rights you'd have thought that the Labour Party would have the decency to stand by Rosie Duffield.

But no, the Labour Party is desperate to be seen as 'progressive'. Even headed by a lawyer they have no intention of upholding the law of this country which has SEX not Gender (except insofar as Gender Reassignment not Self ID) as a protected characteristic.

This is not about the rights of a minority it is about the erosion of women's rights. I am deeply disturbed ty the continuing stance of the Labour Party on this issue.

It would be great if she "crossed the floor" to the Tories.

purpleboy · 31/01/2022 09:39

The Labour Party don't have much going for them at the moment, so if she goes I think that will seal the deal for many.

CorrBlimeyGG · 31/01/2022 09:42

It would be great if she "crossed the floor" to the Tories.

Then she'd really be sticking two fingers up at women, wouldn't she? Do you have any idea of the impact of austerity on women?

Bolets · 31/01/2022 09:56

I really do not want to vote Conservative, because I think the effects of austerity have been terrible.

But how much longer will I vote for a party that explicitly tell me they don't want my vote, that I can fuck off, that my views are not welcome and spit in my face at my concerns? Just for thinking that women need single sex spaces and the penis will never be a female organ?
