Wits end, childcare - please help!

Please help me find decent childcare in Barking or Epping - it’s for a relative and her six month old baby, she’s at her wits end.

What days does she need??
Sorry ,can’t help but that is probably the first thing anyone who can help will need to know.

Monday to Friday

What has she done to look so far? Has she called local nurseries and asked the council for a list of registered childminders?
Asked for recommendations on a local facebook group?

www.childcare.co.uk/ this will list childcare providers near her just pop in the postcode. Also if you go on her local council page there should be a directory of childcare providers listed again you just enter the postcode.

Why don't you have a look at the ofsted reports in the area? That's how we found our childcare provider

Is there a families information service at her local council? Ours has a list of all providers and they’ll ask what you need and make a personalised list for you.

I used childcare.co.uk plus asked in school WhatsApp groups. If she had friends with primary age children they could ask for her. She can also call all local churches and ask about nurseries. I used a childminder and found her in my local neighbourhood through word of mouth

Many childminders don't have their names available on online Ofsted reports though.

Is childcare particularly hard to find where they are? I just googled, rang round and chatted to people, am I missing something?

What's the issue - is it that she can't find anywhere with spaces or that she can't find anywhere she likes enough to use? Because they're quite different problems.
