Restrictions / Protections

I’ve just read it again…

“It’s important to still have some protections”.

I’m also in Wales where Welsh Government have adopted this term.

I find ‘protections’ so patronising, that hearing the word used, makes me feel incredibly hostile and I find myself wanting to throttle the person saying it. I’m not usually an aggressive person, but that word makes me see red.

Just stick with restrictions, that’s what they are. 😡

Sorry…just had to get that off my chest.

I see them as 'restrictions' too. 'Protections' just puts me in mind of contraception.
