So I’m really struggling to get into a new series. I’ve tried so many but if the first episode isn’t gripping I just lose focus and give up!

I’ve just watched and enjoyed
Pretty little liars
Gossip girl
SWAT
designated survivor
Jane the virgin

I don’t like sci-fi or supernatural stuff. I enjoy dramas and thrillers mainly.

I’ve tried watching virgin river, Ginny and Georgia, the maid, the fall, and just can’t seem to get into them or focus. I know everyone’s watching ozark atm but I can’t seem to want to watch that either!

Any good recommendations?

I love The Bold Type (hence my user name!)

Not Netflix but I'm currently watching Yellowjackets on Sky - definitely grips you from the very first episode.

Give 'Ozark' another chance. The premise is more than a little implausible, as are many of the plot twists, but the brilliance of the acting and characterisation will draw you in. Also it features a wide variety of interesting female characters without it feeling tokenistic or box ticking in nature.

After Life - I've just started watching and really like it so far.

Designated Survivor

whatwasIgoingtosay · 29/01/2022 21:36

The Crown, obviously

RoyKentsChestHair · 29/01/2022 21:41

I kept seeing Money Heist recommended but couldn’t get into it. Then realised I could have it dubbed instead of subtitled and I loved it. Must be a total philistine I know but I just can’t be doing with reading while I’m watching TV!

Snoken · 29/01/2022 21:50

Call my agent, definitely. Also this new British documentary series called the puppet master. It’s fascinating.

isitnewyearyet · 29/01/2022 21:50

Clickbait is amazing!

girafferaffle · 29/01/2022 21:57

I was going to say Russian Doll but not sure if it meets the no supernatural requirement. Its brilliant though and I've been trying to get people to watch it for years now. No one will!

Clickbait was great as PP said.

Spanglybangles · 29/01/2022 22:10
