I am a 34 year old female and when I was early 20s i had a couple of admin roles, then recession hit and i got stuck in care. I have been off work for a couple of months after a broken bone and have realised how much i hate my job. I really lack confidence in every part of my life. I am so anxious to meet new people. I have just brought a new laptop to do a cv and start looking for a new admin role. Does anyone have any words of wisdom? Tips etc ? Has anyone got over awful self esteem issues and anxiety?

Asking here for traffic. Thanks in advance for any comments.

Xx

NHS seem to have absolutely loads of admin posts advertised at the moment. I used to get terribly anxious as a Nurse so changed career, now looking back to going into some kind of care assistant work alongside another part time job I have.

If you don't know what you want to do, maybe target companies or sectors you want to work in and apply for entry level jobs. Once you've got a foot in the door, there may be opportunities for internal promotions.

Recruitment agencies are a good place to start. I know temping can be insecure, but it can be a good way to get experience. I've known loads of temps who have ended up in permanent roles, because they have proven themselves.
