Should I have to valet lease car before returning?

Ok so my lease is up on current vehicle and it's being collected in a couple of days time. I'm clearing it out and cleaning it up.

It just dawned on me today, do I have to return it professionally valeted? I mean I can do an ok job but not that of a professional.

Also any tips please? I'm concerned about extra charges. I know I'm going to get for the scuff on the alloy that's 1mm above allowable wear and tear and a chip on wing mirror that's also 1mm bigger than allowable 😟

I've had to put a new tyre on it this week as had a bad puncture and It had to michelin tyres! Which were more than double the budget ones. Good job I called them to check. It's a Honda I'm returning if anyone has particular experience with them.

Hand book and service book all stamped. Is there anything else I need to think about?

Thanks in advance!

What does it say in your leasing contract?
Then do that.
Job done.

When I returned my leased car I got it professionally valeted , @120 , it was spotless , and fully expected to be charged for a few scrapes and dents but luckily they didn’t charge me , car was going straight to car market , someone got a good buy

I have mine valeted and any little marks or dings in eg the alloys treated. The companies can be quite strict and charge you if it’s not spotless so I get it done and photograph it inside and out during the inspection.

Yes, or they'll do it themselves and charge you a small fortune.

Usually the service is due just before the lease is up and they do a complimentary valet inside and out! Left it as that and never any complaints.

I had mine valeted because I have dogs.

They did an unbelievable job. Utterly fantastic. It looked brand new.

The man who collected it said he was so impressed with how clean it was that he let me off a scratch on the side panel.

It will tell you in the email they send you to arrange collection. I noticed when mine went bank last month that they'd needed to be a quarter tank of fuel. I cleaned mine myself and it was fine.
