To think it shouldn't take 14 years to jail a prolific stalker ?

This man who is local to me has been stalking and making fake facebook accounts and hacking accounts since 2008 (when we were still at school) to harass 100s of women and their families. He would also pretend to be women, send sexually explicit messages to men and then the poor victim would have the men approaching them in the workplace (in our very small town) asking for sexual favours. It's 2022 and he's finally been jailed he's never stopped this behaviour or shown any remorse if anything it seems to have escalated and I would be worried he might progress onto further crimes he seems to really hate women . Lots of my friends including me have been targeted by this man over the all these years.

AIBU to be alarmed it's taken this long to put him in jail?

I've seen this case reported on the local news. It's a hell of long time for one person to do this in one place and not get caught sooner. Was it clear it was him? Sounds as though you knew him irl at school.

The law on stalking has changed over that time iirc so it may be that now he has been able to be jailed for longer, etc.

Oh my god that’s awful. What he put those victims through! Why oh fucking why would someone enjoy doing that to someone?

The issue could be the number of victims. More victims would mean less incidents per victim which would be more harassment possibly. So it would take longer to get all the information, as sure police would want to prove every incident with every victim

If he was well known in the town I'm surprised nobody went to his house and gave him a good hiding!!
