I have just had a reply from our local Tory MP after I emailed him about the Boris shitshow .
He is disgusted by the parties in Downing Street and it’s fair to say that his email almost confirms that BJ will be gone very soon!! He said that they just need to wait for the enquiry to get rid of him .
I live in one of the most Tory controlled seats in the country !

@lljkk

>- 95% of the party goers were Civil Servants.

This is a Civil Service scandal. Not a politician scandal. People don't understand. Politicians failed to provide leadership, agreed.

Yes, agreed, they just pretty much said this on the BBC news

@rwalker

Really don't care 10 people MP's who've worked together stay behind have cake and a few drinks 10 people nurses who've worked together stay behind rehearse dance routines and film it

can't see the difference and have no problem with ether but they have both done the same thing .

Do you care that the Prime Minister of this country lied to the House of Commons? Do you care that he misled the public when he said there had been no parties? Do you care that the person responsible for creating the rules has admitted being so thick that he didn’t actually know what they were? Do you care that there were so many social events at 10 Downing St that it was clearly considered the norm? Do you care that the people in charge of making the rules clearly felt that they only applied to everyone else? What about people who could not say goodbye to loved ones as they died, who couldn’t attend funerals, while this lot drank wine, ate cake and laughed at the British public?

Oh, and if it was a work event, why was Mrs Johnson and the interior decorator there?

Wake up and see how much this Prime Minister hates you. Look at how little he respects you.

AFS1 · 27/01/2022 06:41

And no, the video of the nurses dancing was 3 days BEFORE lockdown, so not the same thing at all.

hugr · 27/01/2022 06:44

Can we see the email?

User764832 · 27/01/2022 06:53

I would also like to see the email, actual wording is very important, rather than OPs interpretation of it

Marchingredsoldiers · 27/01/2022 06:58

95% of the party goers were Civil Servants.

In this very rough estimate, what were the other 5%? If politicians, then there is still a huge problem of breaking the rules they helped set.

Also Boris is ultimately the head of the civil service. He sets the culture.

He also lied to parliament over this. It doesn't matter whether he lied to protect himself or the civil service.

This is not just a civil service problem.

There was many many videos all over social media and on tele DURING lockdowns . It's the same people who work together staying after work for a group activity (not being a risk to anyone as the have worked together all day )

My 82 year old dad was in hospital and contracted covid whilst in there and no visiting at all and he was in for 8 weeks.
But I can see the difference from hospital visiting and potentially bringing covid into a hospital full of very ill and clinically vulnerable patients ,rather than sat having a sandwich after work with the person I've sat next to all day .

AFS1 · 27/01/2022 07:46

Why was Mrs Johnson there?
Why was the interior decorator there?
Why were employees from multiple different offices present at the 20th May bash?
Why did Mrs Johnson and 2 of her friends present?

These flagrant breaches of the rules MADE by the people at the multiple parties held in Downing Street are patently not the same as a couple of nurses dancing at the end of a shift. I’m embarrassed for you that you can’t see that.

I’m sorry for whatever has happened in your life that has left you feeling so little respect for yourself that you would attempt to defend what has gone on at 10 Downing St. They hold you in utter contempt. They think nothing of you or your poor father. And yet you still scrabble around attempting to defend the indefensible. Please think better of yourself. You deserve a government who applies the laws it makes to itself, not just it’s subjects. You deserve a Prime Minister who does not lie over and over and over again to save his own skin.

Nothing has happened in my life that I have so little respect what I do have is the view nothings/ nobody’s perfect The threat to my farther was someone with Covid coming into a hospital not some having a sandwich in an office It’s just depressing that we expect everything to be 100% contestant fault finding and criticism yet no mention of any victories and successes Sorry to break it to you but they all lie get used to it
AFS1 · 27/01/2022 10:05

If a minister misleads Parliament they MUST resign. Johnson said there were no parties. There have been. He’s attended some of them. He’s under criminal investigation. This is not trivial. This is not “fault-finding”. This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour from the highest office in the land. And yet you’re so blindly loyal to him that you’re still trying to defend him. He does not deserve such loyalty. He won’t ever pay you back for it.

Oh, and victories and successes? Which ones shall we celebrate?
The fact that 10s of thousands of people died because of his mismanagement of the pandemic?
The reopening schools for 1 day and then shutting them again?
The lack of clarity regarding care homes, resulting in thousands of covid positive patients being discharged from hospital to infect all other residents?
The 39 billion wasted on track and trace?
The fact that the brexit deal that he signed off on and got elected off the back of is a total disaster that his government is now having to try and back out of?
The failure to manage the energy crisis?
The failure to address the rising cost of living, and in fact exacerbating it by rising national insurance?

Oh, and do they all lie?
Has Kier Starmer been sacked from 2 journalist jobs for lying? Has he been sacked as a shadow minister for dishonesty? Has he been recorded discussing with someone how to beat up a journalist? Has he cheated on his wife while she’s undergoing cancer treatment? Has he gone to court to try and conceal the identity of a child of his? Has he had an affair with someone he paid £100,000 to and tried to pass it off as internet lessons? Has he sent the leader of the House to lie to the Queen? Has he unlawfully prorogued Parliament? Has he whipped his MPs into supporting a change of rules to try and get his mate off an expenses scandal?

Have any of the other leaders of political parties got such a CV?

Wow I think if the sun didn’t come up in the morning you’ll blame boris

Wonder if the fact We through our shit choices are one of the fattest and unhealthiest nations and there is a link to that and Covid deaths
Whilst I think brexit is one of the biggest mistakes leaving the EU have made irrespective of which party was in we would of still had brexit that’s what the majority of people voted for the embarrassing infighting and point scoring made us a laughing stock and put us in a very weak bargaining position

You seem to invested in people’s personal life
I don’t understand if someone has an affair it’s anything to do with work or if they have children

More in my life than to worry about who our prime minister has or hasn’t shagged

I’m more interested in furlough vaccinations than peoples sex life guess I must just have a fuller life than others

So to disappoint I won’t be replying any further

@SnotRags

I quite like Patel
What?! She is the poster Asian Tory MP,who happily spreads a little bit of racism every day.its the equivalent of a gay person who forwhatever reason has sadky internalised homophobia and speaks out against gay people.SHAMEFUL.

Ah, but then the Tory voting dimwits just reply but imagine how much worse it could be if Jeremy Corbyn and Labour had won the election. Hmm...

@SuitcaseOfWhine you couldn’t have got my character any more wrong 😂 I don’t even own a bloody handbag

Blossomtoes · 27/01/2022 12:23

This is what I got from my MP.

I understand and share the anger felt by people across the country at allegations of gatherings in Downing Street during the pandemic. So many of us have made extraordinary personal sacrifices throughout the pandemic. We followed the rules to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities. I know for many people, it is deeply upsetting to think that those in Downing Street, who set the rules, did not follow them.

I welcome the ongoing investigation into these allegations which will establish all the facts and report back as soon as possible. This is an independent investigation and is being led by Sue Gray, second permanent secretary at the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. I await the outcome of the inquiry at which point the Prime Minister will make a statement in Parliament.

Is yours similar @Hightemp?

TooBigForMyBoots · 27/01/2022 12:35

I'm not sure the Conservative Party will get rid of the PM yet. They'll keep him to fuck up/ take the blame for more stuff and get rid closer to the election when they'll claim to be "totally different now".🙄

That won’t wash. How can they claim to be totally different when they’re the same people?
TooBigForMyBoots · 27/01/2022 12:50

They lie. Just like they did about Brexit/sleaze etc. Just like they're doing now. They don't actually change but their lies go down surprisingly well with the electorate.🤔

Yes fairly similar but his wording was more forthright about how he personally will act in the best interests of his constituents anger which he clearly agrees with! I am useless at posting and copying. Shall ask my husband later to show me how to put it on here without identifying myself or MP 😊 It’s fair to say that our constituency is so Tory and has been forever that our MP reply to me was so surprising…we can but hope !
