AIBU to ask what the difference is between an expensive BT Disc and a cheap wifi booster?

Given what we pay for our BT broadband I would expect excellent signal all over the house, but I do not have it.

So, AIBU to ask what the difference is between a very expensive BT booster disc and a standard (much cheaper) plug in wifi signal booster? Please could someone enlighten me?

Thank you!

Watching with interest as I'm on BT's best package and have to practically sit on top of the router to get a decent Wi-Fi signal. I dont want ugly range extenders in every plug hole though.

I've had both and only the bt discs worked, no idea why or how but they're great.

No idea. But we had plug in boosters which were rubbish but the BT in every room guarantee really works for us

Thank you all. I asked a friend who works in IT and he said that the discs work so well because you create a mesh network with them. And apparently there is a massive difference. So.....expensive BT disc it is. Now just working out if we are better buying 1/2/3 of them or paying an extra £12 a month for BT to come and sort it out for us! Seems ridiculous that you pay the same regardless of how many you need. Really annoys me!
