Day 8, household contact. Chances of getting it now?

Just that really...

DD tested positive for Covid 17/01. Absolutely no way of isolating from her at home.

All my LFTs have been negative so far. What are the chances of me testing positive now? Triple jabbed if it makes a difference.

Posting here for traffic, as am getting no response on the Covid board and would like to hear other's experiences.

Thanks in advance!

My husband tested positive on 18/1 and we can’t isolate from each other but I’ve not caught it yet according to daily LFTs.

twolinesornone · 25/01/2022 18:42

That's reassuring to know. Thank you.

Noone in my household got it when I had it last week. Household can stop testing at day 7, so dd and dh last tested on day 7. I got my negative lfts on day 5 and 6, probably would have carried on with them if I was still testing positive though.

Is dd still testing positive on lfts?

3scape · 25/01/2022 18:51

My son tested positive on 17th. Out of the rest of us it's gone 50/50. Two of us tested positive on the Friday after. Other two are still negative. One who got positive is triple jabbed. Other only one dose to date

3scape · 25/01/2022 18:52

If the other two got it now I'd take it it would be from the latest two infection s rather than son

PutOnAHappyFace · 25/01/2022 18:56

DS tested positive the 16th, the a few days later 2 more of the house then a few days later 2 more while I am still negative. Our baby is also postive which makes it even stranger that I've not caught it.

Bluebubbletrouble · 25/01/2022 18:58

DP positive 16/1, DD headache and felt warm
Everyone else negative daily until DD positive 20/1 no symptoms
Everybody negative by Sunday 23rd.

I'm also wondering if I'm out of the woods, I'm the only one triple jabbed and DS 3 has had no symptoms an tested negative all along despite being impossible to keep a distance.

Nocutenamesleft · 25/01/2022 18:59

Every single person in my family had it. We were so sick

Except for my husband. Who never left mine or children’s side and he never caught it. At all

Even his parents whom we saw for 3 hours both caught it!

Rocktheboat56 · 25/01/2022 19:00

I had Omicron. Day 6 and 8 I tested myself and on both occasions was still showing positive. My partner tested daily and not once had a positive result. He even had a PCR test on day 3 just to confirm incase the antigen tests on day 1 and 2 were false.

It's possible he's had it before. However I gather a source not necessarily reliable said you are most contagious within the first 5 days and after that not so much.

twolinesornone · 25/01/2022 19:09

Thanks all for taking the time to reply.

It's reassuring to hear that some haven't caught it from their family at all.

DD still testing positive and has a slight temp. Hoping as it's past the anecdotal 5 day danger mark I'll evade it this time.

All of us got it. All jabbed. Two were always negative on LFT but had symptoms so did a PCR which was positive. Didn't get a positive LFT at any point afterwards either.

tpmumtobe · 25/01/2022 19:21

I developed symptoms and tested positive 8 days after DC2. I'm triple jabbed. DC1 got it 9 days after. DC2 was still pos on LFT throughout. DH (triple jabbed) still negative. So I'd say you're not out of the woods just yet...

Crunchymum · 25/01/2022 19:49

DC1 got a positive yesterday. I'm expecting us all to drop like flies

MsAnnFrope · 25/01/2022 19:53

DD had a positive on 18/1. She had a cough and a temp. She’s finally negative today. DH and I tested neg all through and have no symptoms.

BoredOfCbeebies · 25/01/2022 20:08

Dd4 tested positive last week but no symptoms. Now on day 6, still testing positive but rest of household still negative 🤷‍♀️

Lindaloo08 · 25/01/2022 20:35

Family of 5, DD tested on 15th and we all slowly got it up to DP testing positive on 23rd. My antigen showed negative but I went for pcr cos of symptoms and it came up positive.

MrsJBaptiste · 25/01/2022 20:46

Nobody in our family has caught it from one another and we didn't isolate at home - one bathroom, no spare bedroom, etc.

DS had Delta over the summer - we were all fine (as was he)

I had Omicron last week - everyone else fine (as was I, just a sniffle)

Rosebel · 25/01/2022 20:54

My husband and DD2 caught it, both positive on the same day, which was a bit bizarre. I didn't get it, nor did DD1 or DS.
No issolating from each other either.
It does seem to happen though. Every one bar one can get it or only one person in the whole house gets it.
By day 8 I think it's unlikely you'll catch it.

Meggie2008 · 25/01/2022 21:25

Unfortunately I tested positive on 19th December and my partner tested positive on 27th December...

Thethuthinang · 25/01/2022 22:37

In same boat. Spouse tested positive last week, still positive with sniffles, both teen and I continue negative. Teen refuses to mask inside the house. I've been more careful and have been masked and sleeping on a camp cot in my home office. It's like sleeping on a gangplank. I almost wish I'd test positive so I could return to comfy bed.

Matilda15 · 25/01/2022 22:59

DD tested positive 16/1, DS tested positive 20/1. Due to their ages DP and I didn’t isolate from them and neither of us have tested positive yet.

hangrylady · 25/01/2022 23:36

My DD tested positive on Sunday and I've tested positive today (triple jabbed). DH and DS negative so far.

hangrylady · 25/01/2022 23:38

Should add, not isolating from each other and certainly not wearing a mask indoors. DH has been kicked out to sleep in the spare room though.

lucie82 · 26/01/2022 12:25

DD tested positive on the Monday, DH tested positive on the Thursday, I tested positive on the Sunday, DS is still testing negative, havnt isolated from each other at all.

twolinesornone · 26/01/2022 13:02

Day 9 now since DD tested positive and I'm still negative, so looks like I've dodged it.
