Bit of a random end of work shift discussion as we were getting changed to go home, do you have a fixed routine for getting dressed for work?
Mine - pants, bra, tights, skirt and then shirt, followed by jacket if I'm wearing one then heels as I leave the house.

True, but not everyone puts them on first... e.g. they might dress their top half and then their bottom half!

Not a regular order in getting dressed generally, but I have to put my left shoe on before my right. It feels so odd the other way round that if I’ve picked the right shoe up first I often put it down again.

Haha me too. It's really odd isn't it?

I'm left handed and have to put my right shoe on first otherwise it feels all wrong.

I generally go knickers, socks/tights, skirt/pants, bra, top /dress.

Unless it's boiling hot then I tend to go the other way around. I have absolutely no idea how why

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 25/01/2022 08:35

Socks first. Followed by knickers, jeans or work trousers, then bra and top or work tunic. This is going out or going to work. Otherwise it's roll out of bed grab pjs off the chair and shove them on. Usually top first and bottoms after I've been to the toilet

MadeForThis · 25/01/2022 08:42

It's right foot first. And right leg for trousers.

If I ever accidentally put the left shoe on first I would have to take it off and put them in the right way. Right first.

Makes total sense to me 😂😂

😂😂 fair point!!

My DH has a really strange way of getting dressed. It baffles me.

He sits on the edge of the bed and pulls his boxers up to his knees, then he pulls his shorts (he's one of those weirdos who always wears shorts even if it means frostbite) up to his knees. Then he puts his t shirt on and then a hoodie arms don't get as cold as legs?? and zips it up.

Then he stands up and pulls boxers and shorts up together.

He's a weirdo but he's my weirdo.

I get dressed in the bathroom after having a shower. I have this really weird thing where as soon as I am dry and I have knickers and bra on I absolutely must brush my teeth. It's really strange, like I can't continue to get dressed until I have brushed my teeth. Only after that do I continue getting dressed, jeans/trousers then top or dress in that order.

DedalusBloom · 25/01/2022 09:11

It's cold in our house so I often wear socks to bed. Put a fresh pair on at night and keep them on for the next day.

I shower at night so there's no need to take them off and keeps my feet warm on the bathroom tiles.

I start putting knickers, jeans etc on while still on the loo so I can pull everything up together as soon as I'm done.

Then bra, deodorant, top. Brush teeth, moisturiser etc. Boots go on once I'm downstairs to reduce clattering that would wake up DH.

If needs be I can generally go from bed to out of the door in about ten minutes if I'm not doing make up.
