It's been approx 8 months and I have been having issues with my nose and I need some help pleaseeee. I'm on the waiting list for the ENT department and haven't heard anything.

My nose is always blocked. I don't have any sense of smell or taste. This smell and taste issues comes and goes but most of the time I just can't taste or smell anything. I literally cannot breathe out my nose. At night I can't sleep without opening my mouth. I wake up every morning with sore dry lips and dry mouth.

Someone please advise me what I can do or if anyone has been through this ??

Both nostrils? Sorry to ask but do you pick your nose (maybe cause infection/imbalance)?

Have you tried things like steam inhaling?

@CloneAViralMess Sometimes it's both nostrils sometimes it's one nostril at a time. Most of the time it's both so fully cannot breathe out my nose. No don't really pick my nose lol im always blowing my nose because it's constantly blocked so hardly ever pick it.

I have tried steam inhaling and also using vicks etc but nothing is working.

Rhinitis maybe. Has GP not prescribed you anything? Like Avamys spray?

Try a saline nasal spray then follow up with a Beclometasone nasal spray. Make sure you blow your nose after the saline spray.

My husband has this. He develops polyps in his nose. He can't smell anything and his taste is impaired. In the past when it gets really bad he had an operation and thing vastly improved. Im sorry to say that they always come back though.

I suffered this for years turns out I have enlarged Turbinates
Had a procedure to reduce them but a year later suffering again.

I had a deviated nasal septum - fixed by surgery and helped me to breathe through my nose.

The doctor did subscribe a steroid nasal spray. It did temporarily relive it but now when I use it, it hardly makes a difference. I'm still on the waiting list for the ENT department. Not sure how long this will take :(

I might need to call the GP again to see if there is any other nasal spray they can prescribe. I hate having this. It's been going on for such a long time I don't remeber the last time I could breathe properly. I miss that!
