Who's got a velvet DFS Sofa/Sofabed ??

AIBU to wonder if they are good value for money? The gaurantee is promising and I'd love one 😍
How do you get on with yours and is it wearing well?

Following. I want a velvet sofa where it doesn’t have the horrible pile going the wrong way effect. I don’t have time to groom myself, let alone grooming a bloody sofa. Any recommendations?

We have a teal velvet corner sofa from DFS and it’s been brilliant! So comfortable and looks amazing, lovely colour and sheen. We’ve had it about a year and I love it!

Wears beautifully. Easy to clean and just plump up the cushions when they get flat (daily currently cause I'm resembling a sloth)

I've heard they're excellent for stain removal.

Personally I find them a bit trendy. I've had my current sofa for 8 years. In 8 years I doubt a velvet sofa will look clean or fashionable 🤭

Had my blue velvet sofa and cuddle chair from DFS for over a year now. I love it, easy to clean and the cats can’t pull it! I’ve got the blush in dark blue.

I have DFS Windsor 4 seater, 2 seater and 2 armchairs and they are big, comfy and beautiful. And as already said, very easy to remove stains from. I have it in yellow.

I have that too 🥰🥰🥰 velvet is fine, but it's in our snug so doesn't get the fury of the crazy lounge traffic and 10 YO DS doing somersaults and flying squirrel attacks ... tho that one is 5 years now, chenille fabric abs doing ok (arighi bianchi tho not DFS) I think they guarantee tie fabric don't they?

Yep, we've got the joules patterdale in emerald green with walnut feet from DFS. Had it about a year.

I'd recommend a silicone/ rubber brush to keep it looking nice, available for about £5 on Amazon or cheapy shops.

@custardbear no we went for the armchair rather than the snuggler as it's absolutely massive and I was just rolling around in it 😂 the sofa itself is quite deep so it's nice to have a more 'upright' armchair to sit in sometimes.

I have a bright pink velvet sofa bed from DFS, m.dfs.co.uk/belair/blr12jse6 although I have the larger size. I’m really pleased with it; no idea why they have a bad rep; it was delivered in exactly the timescale they said when I ordered it, 4 year interest free credit, the delivery men were really helpful. Very comfy. Tbf I’ve only had it a couple of months, but I am very tempted to get another one…

We have the joules velvet 3/4 seat sofa in dark blue, the armchair in dark blue, and the cuddler sofa in pink.

Had them for 3 years. They have lasted really well. I have a now 6 and 4 year old. Both love jumping on the furniture 🙄.

I barely do anything to keep them clean. We've hoovered or brushed them very occasionally but that it and they still look great.

We’ve had a dark green DFS velvet sofa for a couple of years now we paid extra to have it treated with stain proof something or other. Anyway it’s a great sofa, it’s kept it’s shape and is very comfy. The stain repellent coating was a few hundred more from what I can remember but with small kids it’s been worth every penny!

We have the Joules velvet sofa with chaise and a separate love seat, both in navy velvet. Absolutely love them. Does show dust and bits however I brush ours weekly and use a lint roller on it. Show no stains and cats don't claw them. The comfiest! So deep. I would NOT recommend the chaise part of the large sofa though as it is a bit misshapen after lots of use

Fantastic - thanks everyone! Think I'll go ahead and order. I do very much like the Joules "Cambridge" one (that's the flowery one, but I'm not crazy about the flowers, I'd prefer it plain. I love the lower profile armrests on it...
Not worried about it staying trendy or anything, I have always loved velvet & was just wondering how the dfs brand stood up to family life (and pets!)

@Roominmyhouse considering getting yours from dfs! Is the colour of it the same as the example photo in your link? I've noticed it's the same photo as the 'royal blue' one so I'm not sure which colour the photo is meant to be. Also, i assume it's comfortable if you're recommending it?!
