I bought something on Ebay mid December. It never turned up. The Royal Mail tracking advice said it delivered attempted twice and returned. But I had never received it.
The seller wouldn't response at first. Ebay refused an appeal as I couldn't prove it hadn't gone to my address. But Royal Mail confirmed it had, opened a case (said I could quote) but data protection meant they couldn't tell me what address it had gone to. They said Ebay always ask for proof but they know that Data Protection prohibits giving out details.
The seller eventually got back once and said s/he'd refund when received it back. Never heard again despite me repeatedly asking if it's been received - it's over 5 weeks ago.
Ebay are a shitshower. I call every other day. Told some BS about it being escalated, will be resolved in a matter of days/someone will get back to you/let me call you back, i'll do what I can for you. Zilch. Gallingly, every phone call opens with 'I can see you've been with Ebay for xx years (insert a very long time), thank you for your loyalty...
it's not about the money any more. It's the principle. The way that I am being treated versus the seller knowing they made a mistake and yet I'm out of pocket.
Is there anything else I can do? Short of constant pestering?
