To really pissed off with my agency and account manager

Just that really.

I’ve worked as supply support staff in school for the last few years. Before the pandemic I’d had the same account manager since I started with them and she was lovely, really got me, new exactly where I worked best and always told me what to expect in advance. She went off sick suddenly in January 2020 and never returned when the schools reopened, we received a text telling us she’d left the company and someone else was replacing her.

I find her replacement difficult. She can be very abrupt and there have been occasions where I’ve felt she is working in a parallel world where there is no Covid! She is underhand and she tells lies, she has misled me on numerous occasions. I don’t think she really understands how schools work. Before Christmas I found out that a school I go to often and who I get on really well with were asking for me to do regular work there on set dates and she kept telling them I was unavailable and she was sending me elsewhere. This wasn’t true, I messaged her asking why she was doing this and she said she’d found cover before I started there and it was sorted. The school had told me differently and I believe them. I also pointed out that schools need consistency and they were getting annoyed about it. I then got a response with saying ‘it is now covered THANK YOU!!!!’. I’m not sure what happened after that but presumably the school had kicked off and eventually I was booked in on the dates they’d originally wanted me for. This is not an isolated incident by any means as I’ve since found out another school have been asking for me by name but she’s been sending me elsewhere!

To add insult she’s now just sent out a text on a Sunday afternoon asking is anyone available to work tomorrow as they are ‘so busy’. Well yes actually if you checked the online calendar you’d see that yes I am sodding available so why are you texting me on a weekend?! Why didn’t she sort on Friday?!

AIBU to think she is unprofessional and just generally shit at her job? I didn’t have any problems whatsoever before she started there.

You would be justified asking for a new account manager citing the examples.

Agencies would want a free supply teacher to be allocated to a school that has explicitly requested them. Keeps everyone happy.

Thank you this is what I thought. I’ve no idea what she’s playing at really.

Why do you need to go through an agency? Can't the schools who know you well just contact you directly and cut the agency out?
We don't use an agency at my school but have a few supply teachers we always use and just contact them when we need cover.
