Last November we bought an electruc radiator for our conservatory costing around £400. It was delivered quickly, but when we opened it, there was a crack in the decorative plastic moulding on the end. It works perfectly. We contacted the supplier, and suggested they could send us a replacement plastic bit. They were pleasant but not helpful. It took a few days before they finally got back to us, told us to pack the damaged heater up. They would collect it and send a replacement. Replacement was delivered, but delivery guy didn't have the paperwork for the return. The heater is heavy and awkward, and was a pain to repack. So here we are, 2 months later, with the heater stuck in our garage waiting for collection. I don't consider it to be my job to chase the company, they cocked up, they should sort it out. AIBU to just hang onto the heater, and maybe sell it at sometime in the future.

It's not my place to chase the company...lord jaysus, do grown adults actually think like this.

Just ring them.

I did the same with a vacuum cleaner. Ordered it, they sent the wrong type I told them and they sent me the correct one but the courier refused to take the original one back.
I emailed them and they told me to take it to a collection point for return. But I refused and waited for them to collect it. Which they never did. After 6 weeks I sent them a reminder email and added that if they did not collect it by the end of the month I would consider it a gift.
I still have it in its box wondering what to do with it. That was last year.
