Just seen this on Facebook market place.

To think this just needs taking to the skip?

Why it's not excusing the boys will be boys behaviour its saying men shouldn't behave like that , well that's my take on it

Thefaceofboe · 22/01/2022 12:25

It just makes me think of ‘man up’ tbh which I hate, so YANBU

Applecrumble24 · 22/01/2022 12:25

It’s a “time out” chair? What’s wrong with that?

GirlInACountrySong · 22/01/2022 12:27

Is it yours?

Paint it? Why such a throwaway attitude?

WorriedGiraffe · 22/01/2022 12:27

It’s tacky but it’s saying ‘boys will be boys’ isn’t an excuse, which I isn’t. What’s wrong with wanting to raise a son that isn’t an idiot?

MajesticElephant · 22/01/2022 12:29

Envy (not envy)

Alonelonelyloner · 22/01/2022 12:29

It's hideous and on that alone YANBU.

Caspianberg · 22/01/2022 12:31

Well I wouldn’t use it as a time out chair

But I wouldn’t throw it. It’s just paint. Re plaint whole chair nice green colour to cover everything and use at toddler table for crafts

Tullig · 22/01/2022 12:36

Well, only complete morons say 'boys will be boys', but I'd be interested in why someone purchased, or indeed customised, a toddler chair with a lot of rather shouty morality stuff -- it's not as though the toddler is going to read it and nod sagely, sadder but wiser.

And is that a TIMER on the back?

Jesus.

Either paint it and use it as a normal toddler chair, or ritually burn it, I would say.

3scape · 22/01/2022 12:37

It's very i want to make a point that I discipline my child - the sort of person who thinks noone else is doing that.

Worried456776 · 22/01/2022 12:42

Disgusting I hate time out anyway

godmum56 · 22/01/2022 12:55

yeah I'd take the timer off and paint it if I wanted a chair for a toddler....but I wouldn't pay a lot

MajesticElephant · 22/01/2022 13:29

I know I’ve already commented but this is why easy access to digital cutting machines is dangerous - the amount of shite people will stick on anything and call is a “business” is unreal. You should have to take a taste test before you can buy a Cricut!

arghdilema · 22/01/2022 13:30

It's not nice but at least it isn't excusing boys behaviour.

Hankunamatata · 22/01/2022 14:02

Weird tinme out chair. Not my cup if tea but we did have time out spots and timers 🤷‍♀️

refraction · 22/01/2022 14:55

Not heard taking it to the skip before.
We would say taking to the tip its put in a skip there.

Tip or skip? Misses point of thread.

Wavypurple · 22/01/2022 15:27

Vomit inducing

Exhausteddog · 22/01/2022 15:35

YANBU to not want it
YABU for not thinking its worth recycling

I was expecting to see something broken or falling apart that it would be a cheek to ask money for (I wouldn't pay for the chair but the fact the person has it to sell suggests there is a presumably very limited market for it)

Hugasauras · 22/01/2022 15:37

Hideous but paint over it and it's just a normal little chair!

PinkSyCo · 22/01/2022 15:40

Why? It’s actually a lovely little chair. Just maybe needs a lick of paint.

MajesticElephant · 22/01/2022 16:00

It’s a plastic ikea child’s chair - they are about £5 from memory.

Oh really? It looks wooden to me. In that case I’d be interested to know how much they’re trying to sell it for. Hmm……..OP?

MajesticElephant · 22/01/2022 16:27

@PinkSyCo me too! The timer is about £2/3 and the vinyl would be about £3 for the amount used. The chair is actually £10. So I’m guessing they are charging at least £30?!

Not heard that in years. My oh is in military and was a common saying, along with ',take some man up pills', or 'grow a pair', used to make me cringe.
Whammyyammy · 22/01/2022 16:46

Also looks like still available on etsy
