To think you can change for the better?

A few incidents recently have made me reflect on how I treat other people and I’ve concluded that I can be quite selfish and inconsiderate. Nothing serious on the whole but in one instance it’s damaged a good friendship probably beyond repair.

Whilst I don’t think that can be undone, I’ve decided to make a conscious effort to change the behaviours that have led to incidents and to genuinely try to be a different person. However, I’m worried that it’s an inherent trait that I won’t be able to stop. So my question is - is change possible? Can I be like Scrooge and wake up a different person?

Absolutely.

Yes, especially now you are aware of your habits.
l am trying to be less judgemental, so before l speak l try and remind myself " Is this helpful? " before l say it. You have to practice hitting the pause button , be aware of how your words and actions impact on others. This has really helped me whilst parenting two teenagers.
