Decluttering tips

I'm trying to get my house in better order as I'm struggling to keep it in shape. My kids have too many toys. I've started on my wardrobes and filled 2 binbags which has really motivated me. I've thrown a bag of stuff away and the rest will be donated.

I've got my wash baskets emptied for the first time in months.

I just wondered if anyone else has any tips on what stuff they did to improve their home and organisation. I am not hoarded up as such and I clean up but never have time to do certain jobs because I'm always tidying up.

Thanks in advance x

Sorry nothing useful to add but following with a hopeful bump. Your situation sounds very much like mine.

Get over to the housekeeping board and find one of the threads on decluttering there. There are a few to choose from. Very supportive.

Ooo thanks..didn't know tjst existed. I am trying one section at a time. I am determined to restore order.

My kids end up ruining puzzles and games and lego sets etc. Everything got mixed in and opened St Christmas before I had chance to sort it. Washing is certainly a pain. My boyfriend who I don't live with has taught me to hang tops up on curtain poles and hang them straight up each night to stop piles of ironing and folded clothes. That's helped too..

Listen to A Slob Comes Clean audiobooks or the podcast. Great for short of time ongoing decluttering.

OK thank you I'll look at those
