To be really worried about this lapse in judgement?

I have had covid since Tuesday, I had three large wines with dinner tonight. I wouldn't usually have so much but I'm off work so thought why not? Once I finished loading the dishwasher I was on the phone with my friend who was going to a bar to meet their sister. I said 'oh I could come along too?' He said 'yes except for the fact that you're covid positive.'

When he told me that it was literally like hearing brand new news. I had completely forgotten and even when they reminded me, it was a shock.

I now feel really bad as it really was a lapse of judgement but one that could have ended in awful consequences

I think this is really common. A friend unexpectedly received a few hundred pounds from a raffle while isolating, and completely forgot. She found it in a drawer weeks later and was totally confused about where it came from.

3 glasses of wine does tend to mangle ones memory somewhat. I wouldn’t worry too much.

I had so many of these moments when I was still infectious. We're so used to being free to do what we like, it's not surprising.

I'd say 3 large glasses of wine was probably the cause of you not being fully with it.

You're only 3 days into having the virus. If you fancy drinking wine then I'm guessing your symptoms are very mild. When I had Covid I felt so rough even thinking of alcohol was out of the question. Be a bit careful though. It's a strange virus and you can go from feeling ok to feeling rubbish in a very short time frame. Feeling rough from Covid with a hangover too would be pretty awful. Let your body rest and recover to make sure you get over it as well and as quickly as possible.
