Root treatment- how long did you wait?

I need root treatment for an infection. I was prescribed antibiotics and given a series of root canal appointments (3) for 6 months away. How urgently should this ideally be carried out? These are the first available appointments they had and there is absolutely nothing before this, however waiting until summer to get this fixed seems a long time and I’m worried it will get worse before then. I don’t want to spend everyday at work miserable with a sore tooth. I’m happy to accept that this is a normal waiting time, but imo 6 months is a long time away. Just wanted to ask how long other people had to wait?

I think I waited a similar amount of time for my appointments. The antibiotics should hopefully ease your pain

I waited 4 months. Had 3 sets of treatment. 2 months later the tooth has snapped and I am now left with roots and can't get appointment for another 6 weeks. I wish I just had it pulled out to start with.
