To drink alcohol whilst covid positive?

Day 3 of covid and starting to feel okay. Not back to normal but okay. Would I be unreasonable to have a glass or two or three or four of wine tonight? Wee one is at her dads and really fancy it.

Of course you can.

Glugglejug · 20/01/2022 17:06

Hahah I have covid too and fancy a glass of wine.

Test and trace won’t come and arrest you, you know. Enjoy!

MotherOfBeardedDragons · 20/01/2022 17:06

Why not, I had Covid over Christmas and ended up ever so slightly steaming, didn’t make anything any worse

RoyKentsChestHair · 20/01/2022 17:08

I imagine it would help tbh! I had a couple of cocodamol the other day and it was the first time I’ve been comfortable since it started! Might have a drink later and see if it has the same effect.

Envoitrevisage · 20/01/2022 17:08

Err why would that be unreasonable? You’re an adult. Make a decision.

Fallsballs · 20/01/2022 17:09

Whiskey is helping me immensely.

thepeopleversuswork · 20/01/2022 17:10

Why on earth not? I wouldn't get completely shitfaced as you'll feel dreadful tomorrow.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 20/01/2022 17:10

I did when I had Covid. I felt OK and can't work from home so not much else to do!

heartachetoheartache · 20/01/2022 17:10

I don't know, I'm just worried it makes me feel worse, especially tomorrow.

OP posts:
TheKeatingFive · 20/01/2022 17:11

Why not?

I mean I wouldn't get shit faced, but a glass or two, sure

heartachetoheartache · 20/01/2022 17:12

I did. I must admit that I wasn't too bad with it but it didn't really occur to me not to.
Curiousmouse · 20/01/2022 17:18

I did, a little, at the end, and not so much. However I got long covid for a few months, and I did wonder whether that affected me.

Hayisforhorse · 20/01/2022 17:19

I think it can increase inflammation, which is not something you want to be increasing at present. It won't kill you, but it might make you feel worse.

loloballlolo · 20/01/2022 17:21

OP i ordered some beers today, to come with the sainsbury's delivery! I might hold off a day or two but they are there for when i get desperate! i've only been diagnosed today, hoping I don't get worse. Been at home for 9 days already, another 9 days ahead eek! (son then me positive!)

Topseyt · 20/01/2022 17:23

Go for it. I always like a dream of whisky when I am feeling rough. It has never done me any harm.

girlmom21 · 20/01/2022 17:26

This is definitely the most bizarre Covid-related question I've seen. It's even worse than "can I go for a walk in my own 10 acre garden if I go at midnight and wear a mask?"

@heartachetoheartache to answer your question, it's never unreasonable!

pointythings · 20/01/2022 17:49

I don't see why you wouldn't. Unless you're really congested and can't taste what you're drinking.

I'm doing Dry January so not drinking at all and I hate getting shitfaced, but we're all adults here and allowed to make our own choices.
