To think new daycare teacher must think I'm completely mad (light-hearted)

DD2 started a new in-home nursery school recently (childminders in big house with multiple minders). I just dropped her off. On the way out I realised she had taken her hairclip that keeps her fringe out of her eyes, off, so I asked her to go and get it for me.
I dropped her off at the childminders' and as she turned around I noticed it wasn't in her hair. I didn't want the woman to think I was neglectful so I genuinely said "Oh no, she took her hairclip out before we left the house but I've forgotten to put it back in". I walked home trying to remember what happened between DD going to get the hairclip and us leaving the house, but like most small details of being a toddler mum, my mind was blank.

I've just gotten home, walked past a mirror and the tiny bright pastel plastic thing is clipped into the front of MY hair and I would have been telling this woman the whole time that poor DD had no hair clip with it so obviously attached to my head!
Hope that brightens up a few afternoons!

Haha so funny! She probably didn't even notice.

Don't worry OP. They're probably used to this sort of thing. Being around small children can have a funny effect on you brain.

I remember having a chat with a nursery school teacher who told me about the day she had to spend wearing odd shoes.

She had two pairs of shoes that were very similar in style but completely different colours.

She'd slipped her feet into her shoes as she was leaving the house and didn't notice until she got to the nursery that the shoes were glaringly different colours.

Hahaha I'm so glad I've never worn two different shoes, I think I would be mortified for myself! Although I did have an interview once to be able to adopt a cat and the cat adoptions interviewer turned up with two completely different very bright, uniquely shaped and embroidered shoes on and I couldn't understand how SHE was scrutinising every little bit of our mindset and lifestyle. Maybe she was trying to see if I was crazy cat lady enough to adopt 😂
