AIBU to think that time scale is a bit BS?

2 months and still no one has spoken to their parents.

I understand that there has to be boxes ticked and maybe an email sent.

But 2 months?

There was a beating up incident our family were in touch with the police with at the beginning of last April. It took until July for police to visit the lad.

They apologised but, due to covid, isolations, holidays & other sicknesses, there was an ever increasing backlog.

Given that so many people, in all types of business, are having staffing issues due to Omicron at the moment I imagine the police are prioritising differently. I know it’s frustrating but they will be in touch.
