Is a discount possible ?

My DD & I have always gone for a weeks mum & daughter holiday every year as a treat for her birthday my late husband always paid for it as her Birthday present.
In late 2019 we booked for our annual holiday for June 2020 and due to Covid it was cancelled,it was cancelled again in 2021 and moved to this year June 2022 we are looking to hopefully be going this year at last.
I have just looked up the holiday on line and find the price has now been reduced by £340 less than I was quoted by the travel agent.
Is it worthwhile speaking to the agent and ask if there is any chance of a reduction in the balance I am due to pay in March.Thanks for reading.

Highly unlikely. Would you be offering to pay more if the price had lower increased?

Very unlikely.

You can't go back to a shop when an item is reduced in the sale and ask for the difference back.

Unlikely. Holiday prices do vary, and they are often discounted closer to the time - by waiting to book you get the chance of a lower price but take the risk of the holiday you want not being available. You can't have both - the certainty of your holiday by booking nicely in advance and the lower price offered to those who have risked booking late.

How much have you already paid, and what is left on the balance. Is it cheaper to cancel and rebook?
