shallwethree · 18/01/2022 23:44

Why???

IABU - time for it to go
IANBU - resurrect and put it in classics

Yanbu
Makes me want to scream in a chapel!

Mynameisnew · 18/01/2022 23:51

All you have done is piqued my interest since I didn't see the original thread 😭

Skeumorph · 18/01/2022 23:52

Gutted!

Gilead · 18/01/2022 23:53

Will now have to check on Sharon and the Wasp!

Tortula · 18/01/2022 23:53

A lady was complaining that her husband/son got upset after she kicked his hands when he was standing like a T-Rex in the middle of a supermarket. She was saying that he was acting as if nothing had happened and asking if she was bu to not let it go.

Her husband supposedly asked her to remind him not to stand like a t-rex

Just a confusing beautiful mess of a thread

5foot5 · 18/01/2022 23:55

Oh bliss. It has to be Sharon or a Sharon pretender. Ah. Old times

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 19/01/2022 00:08

I’m confused... was this a new thread or has the old one in Classics suddenly been deleted? What have I missed again

IVflytrap · 19/01/2022 01:09

Anyone know why? Surely it was already in Classics?

SomeOwlsCoo · 19/01/2022 01:13

As well as standing like a T-Rex he also did the mole, the owl, a couple of other things and pulled a spiderman face or something.

It wasn't in classics. I think it was in chat. It also wasn't as old as I remembered.

Wopies · 19/01/2022 01:31

I don't understand why it was deleted just for being a zombie thread. Admin don't normally do that do they? This place is getting so boring all the good threads get deleted to 'look behind the scenes' then never come back and now zombie threads too.
YANBU it should be in classics.

IVflytrap · 19/01/2022 01:32

"Tony" Maguire face, wasn't it?The lesser-known brother of Tobey. Grin

SpacePotato · 19/01/2022 01:35

Noooooooooooo
How could they!

IVflytrap · 19/01/2022 01:37

Found the (dead) link: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1498923-Shouting-at-me-in-the-supermarket
Deleted due to being a zombie thread. I didn't think mumsnet did that... Confused

Google results still show some of the thread previews, so I managed to glean this gem at least:

Mole is eyes closed, spiderman is being tony maguire and owl is being an owl. He doesn't do rabbit so much these days not as bad as before anyway.

BashStreetKid · 19/01/2022 01:45

I wonder if this was deleted by some keen soul who didn't realise it was a bit of a classic?

I think just lately Admin have been deleting some zombie threads when they get revived, because unsurprisingly people get cross if they waste time commenting on an issue that should be well and truly dead and buried.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 19/01/2022 02:34

Anyone looked up the Classics Shitting Man threads recently? Last time I tried all OPs posts had been deleted, which made it totally pointless 🤬

Come on @MNHQ, if a thread is in Classics please leave them alone, even if the OP has deregistered (unless they specifically request all posts deleted)

By all means lock zombie threads unless resurrected by the OP, but please keep them for posterity. Don’t deny new members access to the sometimes brilliant threads of the past. Frankly the humour is needed these days.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 19/01/2022 02:48

I’ve reported my own post btw, in case tagging MNHQ doesn’t work... I hope it gets noticed in a good way... if not, (dramatic gesture inserted here) farewell and adieu 😬

HopeMumsnet · 19/01/2022 08:10

Phew, many apologies for this, everyone! Total error on our part, looks like we just didn't quite click what was being deleted.
Upside is that it flagged that the thread wasn't, in fact, in its rightful place in Classics so we have sorted that now and it will remain there evermore.
Thanks SO much for flagging it, some of us can't go to Asda without flexing a little for old times' sake, so this would have been a great loss to MN.

SomeOwlsCoo · 19/01/2022 08:37

Another little piece of batshittery history preserved for future generations to scratch their heads over Grin

Could T-Rex scratch their own heads with their little arms?

JorisBonson · 19/01/2022 08:43

Well that cheered my morning right up.

Skeumorph · 19/01/2022 08:46

Hurrah!!!

Presumably this happened because people were referencing it thanks to that ridiculous wannabe Sharon-thread yesterday so someone posted on it.

shallwethree · 19/01/2022 08:46

Thanks @OnceUponAMidnightBeery for drawing it to Mumsnet's attention and thanks to @HopeMumsnet for restoring one of my favourite threads :-)

OP posts:
OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 19/01/2022 21:26

Thank you @HopeMumsnet, @shallwethree and other PP’s... ‘twas not me, ‘twas you guys!

@HopeMumset where did we land on deleting posts when threads are in Classics??

BliainNua · 19/01/2022 21:35

Surely the sensible option is to not allow threads to be resurrected more than a year (or whatever) after last post? But then we would never have had the thread where the OP asked for recommendations about a pram, and then answered herself 3 years later - or something like that...... was funny to me anywayGrin
DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 19/01/2022 21:40

Hurray! Result. Loved this thread, the best feature is the confusion of some of the posters juxtaposed with the dead pan style of the OP. It's one of my favourites.
