Screen time for six year old?

Hi genuine question not looking for judgment or judging. We recently bought our son a switch and I'm wanting to set limits. How much screen time do your 6 years olds get? As in tv, iPad, gaming, phones. Also my son is autistic so any feedback from parents of nt children would be great. Thanks

My 5year old has a switch. He has it far too much really on a weekend but apart from school holidays he's not allowed to play it during the week, and he's accepted that rule quite well.

My 8 year old is allowed 20-30 mins in the afternoon/evening during the week. Weekends are more relaxed and dependent on what else we are doing.

I found it really important with my autistic son at that age to limit it to weekends only, he was quite happy with that as a rule, didn't badger us for it constantly like some peers but the most important thing is it didn't change his personality as he didn't get obsessed.

We are the same as DropYourSword, my 6 year old DS has a Nintendo switch which he is allowed to play on at weekends and school holidays, not during the week. I’m not too strict on how long for, he probably has a couple of hour long sessions or so per day at the weekend? If I feel he’s been on it for a bit too long I tell him to turn it off and we do something else.

I don’t limit TV at all, he spends an hour or so in the morning watching cartoons every day (very early riser so this gives DH and I a bit of time to wake up) and the same again after school probably. He also has an iPad but only really uses it for watching cartoons in bed in the morning so I don’t count that separately to TV.
