Is it so wrong that I want even one contestant to bring in a bag of bullshit ingredients? So far, 4 episodes in on Netflix everyone has brought in normal food which can be easily transformed into a tasty meal, just once I want to see a chef stressing out wondering how they're supposed to make an edible meal out of a packet of jelly, beef hula hoops and pot of hummus

YABU - the point isn't to mess with the chef

YANBU - you're right that'd be way more entertaining because it'd be hilarious

I remember watching the original version (I was a student, daytime telly was great) and someone did that - 20 years on I can't remember what the ingredients were but I vividly remember Nick Nairn's face when he unpacked the bag. Was excellent!

This is what I want! A bewildered confused chef trying to make something palatable out of nonsense!! Also, rylan has had the same outfit for every episode
