To really hate the On the Beach advert?

I used to love the Andy Williams song most wonderful time of the year. Now it has been ruined by association.
Especially the horrible family doing the smug dance-walk to the airport lounge. The dad and son are particularly vile.
Also bugs me, holiday adverts in general, that people are encouraged to feel sorry for people having no frill holidays. As if they're truly deprived or something. Many people can't even afford to go on holiday full stop.
Don't get me started on the idiots who book overseas holidays during a pandemic, then get angry/shocked when they get cancelled.

How can you decide the dad and son are vile based on a minute long advert? I'm baffled!

I can't afford a holiday this year so I'm cross with holiday adverts too... you have my sympathy.

I really dislike the P&O "Big Kid" ad. What looks like a lovey dovey couple turns out to be a father and daughter.

Oh I love this advert! It makes me happy every time I see it. I love the boy especially.

Whoever wrote it hadn't read the book by Nevil Shute of the same title.

There is definitely something very disagreeable about the tone of that advert, I dislike it as well.

@AnyFucker the boy pissed on my chips and the dad left a floater in the toilet. Then they walked the smug dance walk as they left my house calling me a bitch

On the other hand, I love the advert with 'I only have eyes for you' - young couple/elderly couple, I love the song and the dance hall scene feels quite magical

I love that advert. I think its clever that they moved the wonderful time from Christmas to holidays. And I love how the mother proudly flings off her coverall.
The only have eyes for you is so uncomfortable to watch. The first half is fine but in the present they dance for far too long and they really don't look like they're that into each other. It looks very forced, especially when she grabs his head.
But they all look like John Houston classics compared to Rylan Clarke's efforts. Ugh.

I just can't cope with the fat little selfish boy on the beach.Absolutley gross!!!!!

100% agree, playing a xmas track all year for an advert is just wrong.
